About Us
Welcome to our laboratory.
We explore fluid, thermal, and material processes with a focus on sprays, combustion, and phase change phenomena. Our research began with engine-related spray and combustion control technologies, and we now extend these ideas to a wide range of applications.
Our projects cover several areas:
Flash boiling of liquids under vacuum conditions, where rapid evaporation occurs at extremely low pressures.
Levitated droplet studies, using ultrasonic levitation to investigate reactive liquids without contact with solid surfaces.
Dry blasting, where we use simulations to understand particle impacts and wear on material surfaces.
Additive manufacturing (AM), especially Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF), to study how metal powders melt, solidify, and affect product quality.
Shock-wave interactions with levitated objects, to uncover new insights into flow behavior and control.
To support this work, we combine advanced optical diagnostics—including laser systems and high-speed imaging—with computational fluid dynamics using the open-source platform OpenFOAM. Through experiments and simulations, we aim to deepen understanding and contribute to the development of innovative technologies across multiple engineering fields.
